WASTE DISPOSAL
The Jabsco 18590 series DC grinder pump unit is the
ideal solution for emptying sea tanks when
not in a discharge restricted area. Self-priming up to 1.5 meters this
pump will empty a typical capacity of 115 liters (30 gallons)
refuel in less than 3 minutes. Duty cycle of the pump is 15
minutes continuously, which means a 180 gallon (680 liters)
can be emptied in one operation
It is recommended that recovery tanks are flushed
several liters of water after each pump. This will
reduce the possibility of sustained sediment build-up
in the tank, which could cause a possible blockage.
FISHBOX AND LIVEWELL TANK EVACUATION
The Jabsco Macerator Pump is the ideal pump for the
emptying fish box and live well bins. Very often
the live well tank will be above the waterline of the boat,
when this is the case, gravity can be used to determine the
livewell tank. If not installed in this format, it is beneficial to use the Jabsco macerator pump for evacuation
because of its self-priming properties and also the grinding
properties.

Fishing boxes are usually placed in the floor of the
vessel and are often located below the waterline or alone
partially above the waterline. Again the Jabsco
Macerator pump has the characteristics that lend itself to
itself to this application. The bait remnants

The priming capabilities are perfect for fish box installations
common to many of today's sport fishing boats.
GENERAL INSTALLATION SUGGESTIONS
The pump can be mounted in any direction without
loss of performance. However, it is recommended that if
the pump is mounted vertically than the pump head
mounted under the motor (pump head pointing down)
Use the supplied rubber grommets to absorb vibrations
The Macerator pump can be placed directly in a
1-1 / 2 "(38 mm) NPT tank flange or female pipe fitting.
If you need to attach the inlet port to a pipe fitting this may be necessary
removing the hose tail port, this can be done with
a hacksaw. Wrap gate wires with a few turns
Teflon tape and screw the pump assembly into the tube
appropriate. Hand tighten, not too tight.
Note: An air leak somewhere in the suction side of
the plumbing system can cause prolonged drought
run. All suction connections must be airtight and
free from sharp bends
